Asbestos Floor Tile Removal

ASBESTOS FLOOR TILE REMOVAL

Asbestos is a highly toxic mineral which UK manufacturers once mixed into multiple building materials. When these old materials are disturbed or damaged, they can release highly dangerous, microscopic particles that are potentially life-threatening.

For much of the 20th century, vinyl tiles were a budget-friendly alternative for flooring in the UK. They were popular in domestic homes and high-occupancy buildings such as shopping centres, schools and hospitals.

WHO NEEDS FLOOR TILE REMOVAL?

If you have identified vinyl flooring within your property, the odds are high that the tiles and the mastic, bitumen, glue adhesives may all contain asbestos. In our 20+ years of experience in the asbestos removal industry, we find that at least two out of the four usually contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).

What happens DURING FLOOR TILE REMOVAL?

As with any type of asbestos, we first recommend taking an asbestos sample to find out if you are dealing with ACMs. Identifying building materials with asbestos is almost impossible to the naked eye, so the suspected samples must be sent to an UKAS accredited laboratory for asbestos testing. ALL ASBESTOS can provide you with a quick turnaround of analysis results, usually within 24 hours of samples being received.

When it comes to any type of asbestos removal, our fully trained team will carry out the project under controlled conditions in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines.

All of our staff wear the appropriate safety gear and use the correct equipment to ensure that the asbestos-containing materials are removed safely, and the property is left in a clean and safe condition for reoccupation.

We always advise leaving asbestos floor tile removal, or any type of asbestos management to trained specialists. Disturbing and removing it yourself can sometimes cause more harm than good and pose a potential health risk to yourself and others.

ALL ASBESTOS provides a professional and efficient solution. Firstly, we will ensure the work area is properly encapsulated to keep the dust particles contained before we undertake the safe removal and bagging of the flooring materials.

After the work is complete, the room will be filtered and cleaned to remove any fibres that may have been disturbed during the removal process. Finally, the finished room is left clean, tidy and ready for a new floor to be installed.
